DL380 G5 Windows 2003 iLO2 Power Problem

We have several new DL380 G5 servers that we are prepping for production. As part of this preparation we have configured iLO2 and all seems to be working well.

One of the servers is running Windows 2003 SP2 and all the lastest HP firmware/drivers etc. When I shut down this server from Windows it shuts down and then 10-15 seconds later it powers itself back on! Very annoying!

I've checked the power settings in iLO and disabled the Auto Power on setting. I've also checked the ROM and disabled the Auto Power On setting there too, yet neither have made a difference?

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing or how to stop this please?

Thanks
Jeff

Hello Jeff,
You have made the necessary changes;

This was earlier seen in 100 series servers;

Is there a UPS Connected.. Just a Guesswork.

hi

can you swap the power supplies from another server(Dl380 G5) to that server?

also have you try another UPS? or outlet?

Re: DL380 G5 Windows 2003 iLO2 Power Problem

There is a UPS but it powers the entire room (roughly 30 servers) and is not connected via a Serial conenction.

The software for this UPS is not installed on the Dl380 G5.

We have a couple of other DL380 G5's with an identical spec running Linux (VMWare ESX) also with iLO and Insight configured (again identical in every setting except name and IP etc) yet these shutrdown without powering back up again?

Hello Jeff,
The only other option that I see is Wake ON LAN. Is this enabled in the RBSU ?

Re: DL380 G5 Windows 2003 iLO2 Power Problem

Hello Jeff,
What Version of HP NC-Series Multifunction Driver that you are using ?

If you have installed PSP 7.9 .. this would be
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/27389.html
This seems to have this issue of reboot.

Try the Latest version :
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/27965.html
& if this Doesnt work,
try the one came with PSP 7.8, that is:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/26803.html

Hope this works.

Regards.
