Hi,
I have 2 DL380 G5 which came with HP Windows license.(Bought years ago).
I would like to know which licenses I should order for installing W2K8R2? HP ROK/OEM/Microsoft Retail?
Kind regards,
Sami

Re: DL380 G5 Windows License Upgrade
Hi
You may purchase either Retail licensces from Microsoft directly or ROK ( Reseller Option Kit ) , the difference is when their are licenscing issues you have to contact MS if retail or HP if ROK/OEM. Their is no other difference.

SolutionYou are right about the ROK, the only difference as mentioned in the PDF is
when installing the HP OEM branded version, we provide electronic or telephone support
for initial setup for 90 days from the date of purchase. If it reads “Microsoft,” HP will provide its
normal warranty support for the server but will not support the software
