DL380 G5 > Expand Array with SATA-Drive is not possible
I have a HP DL380 G5 Server with P400 RAID-Controller and four SATA-Drives (10RpM), all drives belong to Array 1, its RAID5.
Now i put a new drive in and i will expand the Array. I start the server with smartstart and open the ACU GUI, there i can only assign the new drive as spare drive.
More Infos:
The Operation system on the server is VMware ESX 3.0.2. The new drive has 15RpM.
Can anybody help me?

Re: DL380 G5 > Expand Array with SATA-Drive is not possible
Well, if you have no Cache for the controller, this is a normal condition.
I will copy from the quickspecs of P400:
Addition of the battery backed cache upgrade enables BBWC, RAID 6 with ADG, array expansion, logical drive extension, RAID migration, and stripe size migration.
About the difference in the HDDspeed - it is no problem, just the new one will operate @ 10k like the others :)
