DL380 G5 shutdown and didn't reboot during weekend
Hi
I am a newbie to manage Server Resources. One Of my Company Server (DL380 G5 running on Window 2003 SP2 Small Buisness Server)
was shutdown yesterday night. And didn't come back to online after shutdown
It happened in every weekend night.
I checked the IM LogViewer and window's event Log.
In IM LogViewer
only message is "ASR detected by System Rom"
no additional imformation is not shown in LogViewer So I don't know how to investigate what is the cause of system shutdown and didn't come back to online after shutdown.
and i don't see any critical error in window's
event log and didn't produce any momory dump from window server.
Could you please help me how to find a way to fix this situation?
DL380G5 has rom flash version is 07/10/2009
Any advice will be appreciated in advance.
Regards,
Samuel

Re: DL380 G5 shutdown and didn't reboot during weekend
As suggested above upgrade all firmware to latest. Use firmware maintenance CD.
Also make sure that you have the ILO2 Management controller driver 1.12.0.0 installed. version 1.11.0.0 have been known to cause ASR Reboots.

Re: DL380 G5 shutdown and didn't reboot during weekend
Thanks for reply
I just found the infamous "BMC IPMI Watchdog Timer Timeout: Action=System Power Reset" log in server's ILO's Logs. but I checked the version of Management Controller Driver for Windows Server. It has version 1.13.0.0.
But I don't know ILO firmware's version or some other driver's version. I don't get
how to check the version of all other dirver and firmware version.
Anyway Hp support guy will update all firmwares and drivers fo ILO tomorrow.
I will monitor the server after server's drivers and firmwares are updated. I found numerous forum threads about this log. But I didn't find any exact solution for this.
Right now All I can do is just to
update latest firmwares and drivers.
I hope It will not happen again after i update server.
Thanks for replay for this situation .
I really appreciate it
Regards,
Samuel
