DL380 G5

I have a new DL380 G5 and when I boot I dont get the Ctrl+A to access the ACU

I get the following message after the P400 has been detected

1794 - Slot 1 Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low
Array Accelerator Post-Write Cache is temporary disabled
Array Accelerator will be re enabled when batteries reach full charge!

Any ideas why I cant get to the ACU

I have 2 72Gb disks installed and lights are flashing

Re: DL380 G5

Sorry the BBWC LED on the Battery is flashing? As I assume its charging but should this affect me accessing the ACU?

Re: DL380 G5

No, It means that you temporary have no BBWC. BBWC is mainly used for performance and you won't be able to edit the read-write prios or to extend/expand the arrays. The other options will be accessible all the time. Just wait for 48-72 hours (the time needed for loading the battery), if the problem remains, just call HP for replacing the battery.

Re: DL380 G5

It is the F8 key to get to the offline config screen, isn't it?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: DL380 G5

HI,
CTRL+A is for adaptec raid controllers; CRTL+I for intel based.

As mentioned by Torsten, you need F8 for ACU.

Have you changed Battery recently ? If so, it needs a minimum 48 Hrs to be fully charged.

If this is an old server, then you need to change the Battery.

Re: DL380 G5

Well, a little correction - with F8 you get to the ORCA, it has basic configuration settings... ACU goes through Smartstart or through the installed utility in the OS.
