DL380 G6 - Parity Error

Hi there,

A customer is reporting Blue Screen error on DL380 G6 running Windows 2008 R2.

Server can be logged into, but after about 30sec-1 min, blue screen appears with the following message:

*** Hardware Malfunction

Call your hardware vendor for support

NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

*** The System has halted ***

Prior to having this error, the server has restarting by itself on occasions.

Server utility is for DC, File Server and Antivirus Server.

Any ideas? Thanks

Re: DL380 G6 - Parity Error

Check the IML.

It should tell you wich memory module got a problem.

Re: DL380 G6 - Parity Error

Is the problem actually really related to a DIMM?

Re: DL380 G6 - Parity Error

DIMM or system I/O.

Still you're best freind is the IML and SMH.

Or simply, try to remove DIMM's in pairs, if possible.

Hello.
We have the same problem. IML shows:
PCI Bus Error (Slot 0, Bus 0, Device 30, Function
What can we do?
Thanks

Re: DL380 G6 - Parity Error

I believe slot 0 bus 0, is the system I/O bd.

Re: DL380 G6 - Parity Error

I think you're right, because the mouse is out of order.
So, if it's I/O system - what do we do?

Re: DL380 G6 - Parity Error

You have to replace the system I/O bd.
