DL380 G6 Serial Number & Product Number
I have recently changed a motherboard on a DL380G6, so I need to enter the serial number and product number, but I can't remember how or where I have to enter these.
I've had a look in RBSU, but I can't see anything there that allows me to enter this, so any help would be very welcome please.
Thanks in advance.

Re: DL380 G6 Serial Number & Product Number
You need to download the BIOS update using the below link
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3884082&prodNameId=3884083&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-5afcb1f1bbae400ea850a720e6
and during this process it will prompt you, if you wish you wish to change/update the Model Type and Serial Number, so you can enter the same of your server.
Also, you must have received a tag containing information of iLO for that particualar motherboard which you need to preserve, prefarably tie it to your server.
Hope this information helps and if does, rating the solution would help me help other friends in a better way.
Regards,
Manoj M.

Re: DL380 G6 Serial Number & Product Number
As I explained in my earlier mail, you can update the Model Type and Serial Number on the new motherboard by updating the BIOS of the motherboard. If you want to see the changes made you can go to the General of Summary option.

Re: DL380 G6 Serial Number & Product Number
This should help
During the server startup sequence, press the F9 key to access RBSU.
2. Select the System Options menu.
3. Select Serial Number. The following warning is displayed:
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! The serial number is loaded into the system
during the manufacturing process and should NOT be modified. This option
should only be used by qualified service personnel. This value should
always match the serial number sticker located on the chassis.
4. Press the Enter key to clear the warning.
5. Enter the serial number and press the Enter key.
6. Select Product ID.
7. Enter the product ID and press the Enter key.
8. Press the Esc key to close the menu.
9. Press the Esc key to exit RBSU.
10. Press the F10 key to confirm exiting RBSU. The server will automatically reboot.
