DL380 G6 and 512 MB BBWC cable

We recieved our first DL380 G6 today and along with it ordered a 512 MB Cache upgrade for the RAID controller. The cable that comes with the kit is about 1/2 the length it needs to be to reach from the battery to the cache card/chip.

I know the G6 model is pretty new, but has anyone seen this problem? Did HP spec out the wrong cable for the cache kit?

Is there a part number on the cable? The Service Guide indicates that the cable should be this part number 488137-001, but I haven't found the specs for it. They also make a longer cache 21" cable for the BBWC, but I can't tell if the connectors are compatible.

I'd call HP and confirm that you have the correct cable kit.

The part number we ordered was this:

462967-B21

Inside the box is:
1) Battery
2) 512 MB cache card
3) 11" cable

According to our reseller, this is the correct part. But who knows.

Well obviously it's not correct. I did find additional info on the other cable lengths:

Smart Array BBWC battery cable, 14-inch 488137-001
Smart Array BBWC battery cable, 24-inch 488138-001

Since the Service Guide indicates 488137-001, the 488138-001 24" *should* have the same connector only longer.

I can't tell from you pic, but it doesn't look like 3 more inches on the 14" would work either unless routing the 488137-001 cable per the doc directions does fit.

According to the notes I have, the cable that was shipped is about 11". I think we need double that to reach. I am gonna try and get the 24" part to see if that works.

Our reseller found the correct part and indeed it has the correct cable. Here is the part number in case anyone else has this problem:
