DL380 G6 crashes with Adaptec 1225SA running Windows 2008 Standard 64 bit

Hi, I have 2 new HP DL380 G6 servers and have installed a Adaptec 1225SA esata card for backups. Both machines blue screen with "Hardware Failure" when trying to initialise the connected esata disks.

I have the same cards in DL380 G5 machines running Windows 2008 Standard 64 bit without any problems.

Adaptec have suggested i log a call here.

We have the same problem. The Adaptec 1225SA crashes Windows 2008 in a DL380 G6 but the same card works fine in the latest generation Dell servers.

We are still having this problem. Does anyone know if an e-sata card that works in a HP DL380 G6?

Addonics eSATA ADSA3GPX1-2E cards work, but have problems with Seagate FreeAgent eSATA drives. Nothing's ever easy is it? ;)

I did see that many of the Seagate drives needed a firmware upgrade. did you try that?

I am now trying a Belkin controller.

it installs fine (win 2008 auto finds driver). and can access the drive with no probem. I do however now have the problem of the DL380 G6 trying to boot from the esata drive regardless of the boot order I specify in the BIOS.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can fix that?

We have the exact same problem on a ML350 G6.
Is it adaptec, the HP G6 or server 2008 x64?

I don't know if its the adaptec or the G6, I am however sucessfully running the Belkin I posted earlier after upadting is firmware. I have the belkin in 3 machines now all running sucessfully.
