DL380 G6 – powers down when trying to install linux - works fine with Windows

I have successfully installed Windows system on a new Proliant DL380 G6 with HP Smart Array P410i.
No problem with it.

However, I want to use it with Linux (Debian Lenny).
But I cannot install it. The installation starts, but finishes almost immediately and the server powers-off with the emergency diode becoming red.
Thanks for any advise.

Hi cnb,

Thanks for the suggestion.
However, as far as I understand, the CD with the support pack could be used once the basic Linux installed? And I cannot do this - the server would shut-down.
I will give a try to the Support Pack CD.

The wokaround was to install Linux with the option acpi=off, then modify the /boot/grub/menu.lst to add "acpi=off" option and make the change permanent.
