DL380 G7 P410i controller not showing disk drives under ESXi 4.1

On a newly purchased DL380 G7, we installed the HP ESXi 4.1 ISO on an SD card and are trying to configure the 8 internal drives as a local datastore. ESXi sees the drives and Logical Drive volume under hardware, but it doesn't show up under the HP P410i SCSI Controller. Any ideas? We're using the latest HP ESXi installer and all drivers and firmware are up-to-date.

You probably have to load the controller drivers into ESXi to get the disks to show.

Re: DL380 G7 P410i controller not showing disk drives under ESXi 4.1

I'm not sure I understand.....ESX sees the drives, but the SA P410i does not see the drives?

I am not sure how the OS would see the drives if they are attached to the P410, but the P410 does not see them. What utility are you using to view the drives or make changes on the P410?
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

We figured it out. The other admin had created a LUN larger than 2TB which wouldn't show up in the Storage view because it exceeds the limit. Thank you for your suggestion and help.

Hi myhnet, you should create your own thread to avoid hijacking this one :)
