DL380 G7 very noisy.
I have this DL380 G7 server with 96G RAM, 2 ST 300G SAS hard DRIVE / a INTEL 180g ssd / P410I 1G CARD.
I don't know when the fans became very loud. I think the TEMP 30 is the root cause.
Where is this sensor? How could I drop the fan speed down to normal? Please Help.

Re: DL380 G7 very noisy.
I'm running vsphere 6.5 on it ,If I suspend all the VMs, The TEMP 30 will drop down to 76C and the fans running at the top of 24%.

Re: DL380 G7 very noisy.
I don't remember for sure, but "Temp 30" might be the sensor near the integrated array controller. It's one of the hottest parts inside the case, especially during high disk I/O.
That said, it's expected and normal for it to run hot (it has a thermal threshold of 230F/110C by default) but of course the hotter it runs, the faster your fans will go. And that's why servers belong in their own room away from people, because they're designed to perform, not to be quiet. LOL
