DL380 G8 HP SUM updates not complete

We're finding that for DL380 G8 servers running Windows, when we run HP SUM, choose to get updates from the HP FTP site, that not all updates are being presented. We've had to manually install firmware for:

System ROM

Hard Drives

Array Controller

iLO

Is it like this for a reason, or is this a bug? We'd like to know that we can use SUM, choose FTP, and KNOW that we're getting all updates available, regardless of the server type. So far, we've only found this on the DL380 G8's.
