DL380 G8 - LAB environment questions

Hi team, 

I started recently studying IT and want to improve skills. For an home environment I bought myself an old DL380 G8, some switches an router and having already couple of fatclients. 

To start with the DL380 G8, I found it really hard to find the right stuff on the HP website. I hope you guys can help me... I hope to learn and build skills for my future. 

 This server wasnt active for couple of years.. For sure BIOS, Firmware, ILO all is very outdated. 

What is the best way to start ? (please provide me the links for Bios and ILO upgrade)
Second part I want to install vSphere create my own domain, dc, vm's etc. Will the latest version of vSphere work on this older machine ? Like server 2019 will that work too? 

When this server part is ready, I want to study for CCNA and the rest we will see.

1) You can use the SPP to update the Firmwares 

The Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) is a comprehensive systems software and firmware update solution, which is delivered as a single ISO image. This post production SPP uses Smart Update Manager (SUM) as the deployment tool and contains updates for ProLiant Gen8 systems.

The SPP Gen8.1 is the latest available SPP for Gen8 Servers which can be downloaded from : https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_ff582daf008c4f529c4d6c28f6
