DL380 G9 cache problem
I have a DL380 G9 server showing fatal error as below.
"Smart array p840 in slot 2 cache status problem detected. Cache in this computer has a problem. To prevent data loss, configuration changes to this controller ar not allowed. Please replace the cache to be able to continue to configure this controller"
I have a spare cache. will the cache replacement solve the issue without lossing any configuration??

Re: DL380 G9 cache problem
Hi,
I believe you should replace the Cache module to fix this issue.
However please verify following:
Does ILO console indicate cache module status as "failed" and the SSB/capacitor status as "OK."
You can also check in SSA:
Cache status
cache status details
Cache disable reason
If battery/capacitor is OK but Cache status shows failed then please replace the Cache module.
If you feel this was helpful please click the KUDOS! thumb below!

Sudhir

Re: DL380 G9 cache problem
Thanks for your reply.
There also a warning that the batteries/capacitors are charging for the same cache.

Re: DL380 G9 cache problem
Hi,
Battery charging status is normal, it does not cause cache failure..
