DL380 Gen 9 - UMCE
Hello Everyone
My DL380 Gen9 got rebooted unexpectedly. Upon checking the ILO logs i found a UMCE (Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception - picture attached below). The server is back online but in degraded state. I followed the GEN 9 troubleshooting guide which tells me to replace the processor of my server. Any leads as to what is the problem and how it can be fixed other than the replacement ?
Thanks in advance !
Best,
Zohair

Re: DL380 Gen 9 - UMCE
Hi m8,
It is hard to say exactly what is the problem with the CPU but per the information you attached. But sometimes it is as well somewhere with communication between the motheboard and CPU where the issue could be the firmware. Try to upgrade the firmware to the lastest version and check if it will get any results. If no I would recommend run the case with HPE and get the replacement.
Regards,
Piotr
