Hello, I am trying to install OS to the front 2SFF SAS drives but the motherboard will only see the SATA LFF drives.
I removed the LFF ones and it still will not display the 2 sas drives anywhere in the boot/install options, intelligent provisioning etc.
My storage controller is the S100i.
Do I need to enable something in the BIOS or what did i do wrong?
I don't want to install OS in the SATA HDDs.

Re: DL380 Gen10 8LFF + 2SFF front HDD Kit
Do you use Intelligent Provisioning?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: DL380 Gen10 8LFF + 2SFF front HDD Kit
I enabled the SW Raid controller, is that what you mean?
I still can't see the SAS drives.
The thing is, the S100i is SATA only. Is it just the data drives it controls or does it control the HDDs in the front kit as well?
Cause if so i need to switch them to SATA too.

SolutionThe embedded S100i controller only supports SATA drives. If you want to use SAS drives you will need to install a "P' or "H" series Smart Array controller as they support both SAS and SATA.
The maintenance and server guide shows cabling options starting on page 134
