DL380 Gen2

I have had 3 DL380 Gen2 servers in the last 3 weeks fail on me. I reboot them and it comes back on and cannot find the array controller. I pulled hard drives from one machine and put in another and they worked just fine. so it has something to do with the hardware?

Please help.

Thanks

Re: DL380 Gen2

Have you tried a different array controller?

No. I thought it was integrated into the motherboard.

Re: DL380 Gen2

:) But like I said this has happened to 3 different machines all the exact same model in the last 3 weeks. I have a hard time believing that it is just coincidence.

I have taken the top off reseated all the cables, ram, etc cleared NVRAM.

Re: DL380 Gen2

Here is what I have discovered. If I take out the 4 drives that are in it the Array controller comes up and tries to detect the drive but can't cause I took them out. If I put them all back the array controller wont come up. Could this be a firmware issue? I have used The firmware update CD 7.2 to upgrade but not sure if there is a firmware for the hard drives or not.

I am using 36.4GB 10K Ultra3 SCSI

You can reset them, when system DOWN, disconnect any power and discharge System board

Have few spare just in case
