DL380 NTLDR & external array

Hi,
Hope someone can help identify the cause of an issue I experienced recently.
Background - I have an old compaq external disk array connected to a Proliant 5500(NT4). I want to decommision the 5500 so I connected the disk array to a DL380(NT4). On boot up, the array controller recognised the drives but when it came to OS boot, I got the 'bad or missing NTLDR' etc.... The external array did not contain any bootable disks. I did fix the NTLDR, however for the life of me, I cannot fathom why this happend(SCSI possible). The array was recoonected to the 5500 and I still need to move it. BTW, all rompaqs were applied on server and controller in advance.
So if anyone can help identify why this happend I would be very grateful.

Re: DL380 NTLDR & external array

Is this just a storage "shelf"? If so, which controller did you plug it into? The best option would be to add the controller, which used to be in the PL5500 to the DL380.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: DL380 NTLDR & external array

Did you hook the external array to the boot controller?
