DL380 Power Problem

We have a DL380 G3 with redundant power supplies that occasionally re-starts. There is no information as to the cause except the RILO log which states that server power has been removed, then (at the same time) server power has been restored. One power supply is connected directly to the raw supply, but the other is fed by a UPS that also supplies other non affected servers. We do not have a UPS log, but speculate that possibly there has been a transient interruption in the raw supply with the result that the UPS has briefly switched to battery. As the UPS is fairly loaded, perhaps the output voltage has dropped a little at this point. Are the DL380 PSU's known to be very sensitive to line voltage, or can anyone please suggest another cause for this behavior?
Thanks.
Martin.

Re: DL380 Power Problem

Hi Martin

You can isolate the problem with power supply by swapping their inputs .i.e. one on UPS now to Raw power and one on Raw power to UPS. Generally there is tolerance of +/- 5 % on input voltage fluctuations.

Thanks Mahesh.
We plan to give that a try in case the PSU on the UPS is over sensitive.
