DL380 Warning Lights

I have a Compaq DL380 G3 that has a red warning light activated. This is the top light on the upper right-hand set of warning lights as you face the machine. I cannot find any documentation as to what these lights denote. (although the NIC1 and NIC2 lights were easy to figure out). Anyone know or have knowledge where documentation that would have this info would be?

Internal Health Green = Normal
Amber = System degraded. 1
Red = System critical. 1
Refer to system board LEDs to identify component in critical state.

Make sure you install the latest Proliant Support Pack for the model 380 you have, for the proper operating system. (7.10 is recommended, as there have been problems with 7.20).

Once you do that, you will need to look at the SystemManagement Homepage, which will direct you to the source of the problem.

Front Panel LEDs

Item LED Description Status
1 Internal health Red = System critical
Amber = System degraded
Green = Normal
2 External health
(power supply)
Red = Critical power supply failure
Amber = Power redundancy failure
Green = Normal
3 NIC 1 link/activity
4 NIC 2 link/activity
Green = Network link
Flashing = Network link/activity
Off = No link/activity. If power is off,
view the rear panel RJ-45 LEDs.
5 Front unit identification
LED switch
Blue = Activated
Off = Deactivated
6 System power Amber = System shut down, but
power still applied
Green = System on
Off = Power cord not attached or
power supply failure

Is the System Power LED Amber? NO

A power supply problem exists. The power
supply may not be inserted properly, it may
have a damaged connector, or it may have
failed.
There is a broken connection between the
following:
Power converter module and system board
System board and SCSI backplane
SCSI backplane and power button/LED
board
The power converter module, system board,
SCSI backplane, and/or power button/LED board
may need to be replaced.
Ensure that the power cord is connected
to the power supply.
Ensure that the power supply is
undamaged, and the power supply is
fully seated.
Ensure that the system power and power
supply signal cables are connected to the
system board.
Ensure that the LED/CD-ROM system
cable is connected to the system board
and SCSI backplane.
Ensure that the power button/LED cable
is connected to the SCSI backplane and
power button/LED board.
Check for bent pins on connectors and
components.

I will check that. The machines is up and has been for the last couple of days and I am just trying to find a window where I can take it down and check some of these suggestions out. However, now the light is amber and not red. I doubt it is a power issue but I guess it could be.

If you open the server, there is a description of all inside and outside lights on the cover.

Turned out to be a memory module that appears to be going south. I moved it around and have no errors now but I got a hunch it will be back. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
