I have a DVD-R on my Proliant DL380 G5 running Windows 2000 SP4. When I open the Roxio software, I get a message that says "...Please change the screen resolution to 1024 x 768 pixels or more, and the color quality to 16-bit or higher".
The display being used is "Default Monitor on RDPDD", which only allows settings of 256 colors and 1280 x 1024 pixels. I have deleted that monitor and tried to use the Plug and Play Monitor that is also displayed in Device Manager, but on reboot, the default monitor is reinstalled. The display adapter is ATI ES1000.
How can I get the settings changed so I can use the Roxio software?

Solution
you mention the display adapter (ATI) but not the attached device.
the "Default Monitor on RDPDD" suggests you are using a remote-desktop setting to manage the server.
if so,
there may be a policy on the server wich limits the number of colours for RDP sessions, or the option of your RDP client sets the limit.

Re: DL380 display settings and Roxio
Thanks so much for the reply! You were right! I manage so many of them remotely that it didn't occur to me that the settings may be different over a remote session.
Thanks again!
