Hi,
I have aquired an old DL380 with two 933 P3 processors. I have installed Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 Server and only one processor is detected. I have also tried Knoppix 5.0.1 LiveCD with the same results.
The boot message contains the following lines:
[ 75.878281] CPU0: Intel Pentium III (Coppermine) stepping 06
[ 75.878294] SMP motherboard not detected.
[ 75.878300] Local APIC not detected. Using dummy APIC emulation.
[ 75.878414] Brought up 1 CPUs
Does this mean that I can't run Linux using both CPU's on this machine, or is there some sort of driver/upgrade that will take care of it?

Re: DL380, dual CPU and Linux
Thanks, that was the problem.
When I first set it up, there wasn't an option for Linux on the first menu, so I selected minimum settings. Having a second look just now, I picked UnixWare and the Linux option was in the sub-menu.
