DL380 event log hpqilo2 errors
Hi All.
I have a DL380 G6 server running Windows 2008 SP2 64Bit and have been getting some hpqilo2 errors in the event log. All are event id 57 and the source is hpqilo2:
Maximum PwrMeter count (1) exceeded
Duplicate thermal sensor indices: 7
Duplicate thermal sensor instances: 6
Duplicate thermal sensor indices: 6
Duplicate fan instances: 2
Duplicate fan instances: 1
Insert logical container 3 failed
Duplicate container instances: 9
Insert logical container 3 failed
Maximum indicator count (1) exceeded
Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 10
NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or what could be the problem.
Thanks
tom

Re: DL380 event log hpqilo2 errors
What iLO2 firmware version and version of the hpqilo2.sys driver do you have?

Re: DL380 event log hpqilo2 errors
There has been a lot of fixes to Event ID 57 issues in both firmware and drivers since then.
Latest iLO2 firmware is version 2.20:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/sc-windows-fw-ilo/p2023401934/v85711
The latest iLO 2 Management Controller Driver (hpqilo2.sys) is version 1.14.

You also need the latest iLO Management Interface Driver (CqpCiDrv.sys) version 1.16.

Re: DL380 event log hpqilo2 errors
2.20? Interesting. Last notification I got was for 2.15 and that's the latest I still see here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1146658&swItem=MTX-e015a8d367354897bc684c7793&prodNameId=1135772&swEnvOID=4004&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=5
But for sure updating iLO is a good idea. Our G6's behave a lot better now than when we got them.

Re: DL380 event log hpqilo2 errors
Is iLO2 available when this error happens? Event ID 57s occur when iLO2 is extremely busy, causing the Get Sensor commands sent by hpqilo2 to time out.
Are you using iLO dedicated NIC or shared NIC?
Also, please log into iLO2 and then replace in the browser bar the "/ie_index.htm" with "/dbug.htm". This will pull the iLO debug page. Please send me a PM with the debug output.
