DL380 keeps rebooting after POST finished
Hi all,
Since last week we're experiencing trouble with a Compaq DL380 G2, 6 x 18,2Gb, Smart array5300 controller, 512 MB, W2K SP3.
When this server finishes the POST and also finishes the startup sequence of windows 2000, the server reboots itself. It does this constantly.
I was wondering if someone had ever seen problems with these symptoms before?
Cheers,
Remco

Did the configuration change at all last week? Like hotfixes or security patches? Can you start W2k in safe mode?

Re: DL380 keeps rebooting after POST finished
This is around the point the systems mgmt driver loads. Does it reboot at the ntldr screen? Or does it reboot after it loads the video driver?
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: DL380 keeps rebooting after POST finished
Tom and Terry,
thanks for both your replies. A new application was installed the day before, but no security patches or hotfixes. Someone else did it and I will ask him which files have been installed. For the other reply, the server goes past the ntldr screen and when it starts its desktop screen it just reboots. It won't start in VGA mode or safe mode.
