Hi,
I have a ProLiant DL380 G6 with 4 modules of 2GB of DDR3 memory and only one processor.
Wich is the best configuration that can I use with this hardware?
Thanks.

Solution
HP has a web tool for this: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/options/tool/hp_memtool.html
But it doesn't like this configuration, as it's not 'optimal', likely because the configuration is not balanced across all the memory channels.
But you should fill the white slots first, then the last DIMM should go into the next slot on the first channel (Should be the closest 3 to the processor IIRC)
If I am not correct, please let me know.

Re: DL380 memory configuration
It depends upon the type of DDR3 memory you have...
This might help:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/options/tool/hp_memtool.html

Re: DL380 memory configuration
I had used the memory web tool but it only says that there is no optimal solution for 8GB.
The optimal solution is to add 2 modules to get 12 GB. Until then, I'm going to fill the channels like Saberus said.
Thnanks a lot.
