DL380 mirrored drive failure
A check of the System Event log showed Storage Agent errors from 9 days ago indicating failure, and then immediately recovering.
After the reboot, I got a status of rebuilding, and then 47 minutes later, OK.
(See attachment for the log entries)
My questions are:
1. Should I consider the drive suspect, and replace it?
2. How do I configure the server to email me when this type of Error occurs? I'm running Win2k SP4.
Thanks,
-jb

>>1. Should I consider the drive suspect, and replace it?
Yes.
Make sure you have last server firmware (server BIOS/SmartArray firmware) as well.

You can use Insight Event Notifier - part of Proliant support pack.
You need to configure this service
(Start->Programs -> HP management agents ->Event Notifier config)
If you have many Proliant servers consider HP insight manager implementation

Re: DL380 mirrored drive failure
Firmware was upgraded within the last 6 months.
I don't have HP Management Agents installed on this server. There are some old Compaq System Tools, but nothing that seems useful. I've been looking on HP's site for the appropriate download. Do I want HP Insight Management Agents for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003 (version 7.51)?
Thanks,

My suggestion: install FULL Proliant support pack 7.51
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24536.html
It's contain HP Insight Management Agents and many other essential Proliants software/drivers.
