DL380 /w 12gb memory issue

I have a DL380 G4 rack server with 6 2gb ddr2 ecc reg Kingston memory sticks and I can only use any 4 sticks of the 6 combination. When I put 6 in the server beeps at me on boot. System boots fine with any combination of 2 or 4 memory sticks. I use to have 6 512mb sticks and it worked fine. I upgraded to 6 2gb sticks to improve performance and the system just doesn't like it.

Any help would be appreciated.

May be your new sticks are dualranked?
What is partnumber of your kingston DIMMs?

Re: DL380 /w 12gb memory issue

As I found dualrank DIMMs are supported from firmware version 2004.12.02 (11 Jan 05).

Try to update your System ROM to latest version ( 2005.10.10):

Re: DL380 /w 12gb memory issue

I found a cause:
As stayed in quickspeck dualranked memory only supported in bank A and B.
Your kingston memory is dualranked memory.
You can found supported memory combinations here:
