DL380
We are closing an office in CA and been shipping servers to a co-lo in SD. Sent a DL380 a few days back, got there and it wouldnt boot. sent another DL380 yesterday and same issue. running out of time and money now.
Server seems to power on but fans dont kick in at high speed like they should. nothing on the monitors at all, treid with drives in and out. ilo is connected and ieven trying to boot from that shows server is still off. Any ideas what i can try please to fix this?
Cheers,
DAVE.

Re: DL380
Do you see any AMBER/RED LED ? external or on the Systemboard ??
Try Reseating the DIMMs; If still no joy, take out ALL the DIMMs & power on without them;
Update us on what happens;
James.

Re: DL380
thank you for your reply.
With everything unpluged, bar the monitor and 2 x power we have:
SVC lights amber on the board behind the drives (drives are unplugged)
also, there appears to be an amber CR49 light and also another which was tricky for the guy at the co-lo to read, but its either CR91 or CR94 and that too is amber.
Many thanks.

Re: DL380
Also, with the memory removed and then the server turned on it does exactly the same, same lights are amber. No noise (beeping etc), nothing on the monitor.
Many thanks,
DAVE.

Re: DL380
System board without DIMMs, on power SHOULD beep; indicating that the DIMM slots are receiving power & the DIMMs are missing/not installed properly;
In this case, try a different Power supply;
Remove Any PCI/additional Cards;
Cheers!

Re: DL380
I though it should beep too :(
The fact that the ILO and leds are lighting would indicate that it is getting power tho? Could it be its not getting enough power? seems odd as there are 2 dedicated circuits for it.
Cheers,
DAVE.

Re: DL380
Did you managed to try a different PSU ?Quite possible that the System board is faulty if PSU is found to be OK !!

James.
