DL380G3 with FreeBSD 5.0-Release SMP

Hi,

I knew that DL380G3 doesn't support FreeBSD officially , but please help me if you know how . I'm trying to install FreeBSD 5.0 -Release and building a SMP kernel . but the kernel seems hanged at boot , the last message I saw was something like APCI ??? , I got notice from FreeBSD Forum that I should try to modify smptest.c or smptest.h , but how ? It's not as clear as I thought.

Thanks a lot.

Re: DL380G3 with FreeBSD 5.0-Release SMP

I've got 4-STABLE working on one; I didn't try 5 but I am sure others have. You might need to try 5-STABLE rather than 5-RELEASE.

Before you try that make sure that within BIOS, the Operating system is set to "Windows 2000".

If that doesn't work, have a look at the archives of the freebsd-smp and freebsd-stable mailing list. The 380G3 has been mentioned a few times.

Re: DL380G3 with FreeBSD 5.0-Release SMP

Hello, I have a problem with my Proliant DL320 G2 + FreeBSD 5.3 - the fan speed is too high, is there a chance to make it slower, some modules to control it may be??
