DL380G4 / AIT tape
hi
I have a customer who used to have 2 x Acer servers with Sony AIT drives in (SONY SDX-700C). We recently replaced the servers with DL380 G4 - what is the best way to add the AITs to this system please ? I have no spare PCI slots. Attached to the external VHDCI they just error and timeout. Can I mount them internally or am I going to need the additional PCI cage and a SCSI card. I'm assuming I can't mount it inside the server ?
Many thanks in advance ...........

Re: DL380G4 / AIT tape
Inside you can mount hot plug streamers only. You can connect streamers to external connector, but only if you have simplex drive cage - it's working. If you have duplex cage, you can convert it to simplex - show instructions on cover plate.
But generaly AIT is not supported with G4.

Andrzej
