I have a Proliant DL380G4 with 4GB of phisical memory installed that is being recognized during the server startup.
The problem is that the Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition is recognizing only 3,5GB of RAM memory.
What is happening with the last portion of 512MB of memory that is missing?
What I need to do for Windows recognize 4GB of installed system RAM?
Thanks in advance,
Marcelo

SolutionThis issue has been discussed and discussed and well... discussed.
The latest thread/information is here...
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=773121
and there are a few more in the past few weeks.
Basically, you need to update the bios and possibly use the /PAE switch in your boot.ini file.

You are getting and using all your memory.

Re: DL380G4 doesn't recognize all memory with Windows 2003
I totally agree though. If we did some testing, we could probably prove this.. but the loss of 500MB is probably to the "System" memory, not the "Application" memory, which is, for all intense purposes... ok, because the system is actually using that 500MB. (At least in a native Windows system)

Now I understand what happens.
