DL380G5 Raid Confguration

We want to configure 2 x 36 GB SAS in RAID 1 and 4 x 146 GB SAS in RAID 1. Is this possible with the internal RAID Controller, ore do we need a second one?
Is the Drive Backplane able to work with two SCSI Controllers?

if you want to use HDDs with different sizes
you need to use a second controller card, yes the backplabe ios able to work.

Re: DL380G5 Raid Confguration

Hi,

Yes you can use the Smart Array Controller for making 2x36 GB SAS in 1 logical drive(e.g. for OS) and 2nd logical drive for the 4x146gb HDD's. Another controller os prefferer if you want to use e.g. tape drive , 1st because it uses parallel Scsi and 2nd because it will slow down the speed of the HDDs.

Timur, we will use the P400/512 Array Controller, which is standard in the High Performance Models

Then PAC is correct. You can create the configuration you want with a single controller.

Thanks for Your help.
Seems that the type of the used Array P400/512 make the story correct.
