Question: Is this a real hardware defect, since the machine runs reliably, or is it a Driver / Bios-Problem?

The server is from June 2009, the system health display on the front panel does not show any faults.

CPU: Intel Xeon E5506 @ 2.13GHz.
Memory: 6GB RAM
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 - Fully patched, including last Tuesday.

With best regards

Toni Umlandt.

Re: DL380G6: WHEA-Logger Serious Hardware Defect

Hi, if you want to check for hw defects I would recommend the HP diagnostics (you can run them online from system management homepage) or from the smartstart CD (so booting and it's offline).
Another good test is the memtest86 (comes on several linux distros now).

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff560537(v=vs.85).aspx

Has some details as for the WHEA error.

For drivers/firmware go here:
