DL380P Gen8 + 647899-B21 = weird?
I need new memory for some DL380P Gen8, and i found in this doc:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/14212_na/14212_na.html
Then i choose 8GB Single Rank PC3-12800R Registered CAS-11 memory, then when searching i found this one:
http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product.asp?sku=10389162&mfg_part=647899-B21&pagemode=ca
But when i saw the picture... something wrong, what memory is this? Cant fit in DL380P Gen8, i think, why HP recommend this then?

Re: DL380P Gen8 + 647899-B21 = weird?
Please note that the information provided in the QuickSpecs are correct information for any HP product. Please refer to the following link containing picture of 647899-B21
http://partsurfer.hp.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?partnumber=664691-001
664691-001 is the spare part number of the option part number 647899-B21 and they are both the same part. Check if the part appears correct. If the memory module that you have does not fit in the DIMM slot, then check if it is DDR2 or DDR3.

Vijayasarathy

Hi sungam,
to mee it looks like the modules have the same size and format.
They are boult with different chips, but this does not matter.
