DL380e G8 : Post Error: 1785 Drive Array Not configured

Hi guys,

I have a small problem that I didn't manage to resolve with my new Proliant DL380e G8.

The Smart Array Controller says on boot:

1785 Drive Array Not configured

No drives detected

When I press F5 to access the configuration utility, no hard disk appears.

My hard disk is this one : http://www.sillworks.com/product_info.php?products_id=459647.php

The seller told me it's 652620-B21, but the product number written on the hard disk is 516810-003 (GPN: 516832-006).

Is the hard disk wrong ?

Thank you for your help,

Re: DL380e G8 : Post Error: 1785 Drive Array Not configured

Hello,

HP Dynamic Array Controller B120i (embedded on this server) does not support SAS hard drives.  It only support SATA drives.

516810-003 HP G8 600-GB 6G 15K 3.5 SAS SD

So, you should purchase SATA drives or a Smart Array controller (ex. p420) that support both, SAS and SATA.

No,ikmallisty:

Your problem is actually quite different...

  1. You're system isn't able to recognize your SATA HDD.
  2. nanax's DL380e isn't able to recognize SAS HDD's because the B120i Dynamic Array Controller embedded on the DL380e does not support SAS HDD's.

Please provide some system information (i.e., HP model number, RAID controller model number, etc).
