First of all, shutdown full system and try reseat item one by one.

After power on and check the status.

If this not solved the issue, try these steps.

FIXES

FIX 1: Remove the system-board battery and short the 2 metal pins holding the battery and re-insert the battery in the system-board.

FIX 2: Replace system-board & VRM module that is present in the server [kindly note which particular VRM is present] in one go, this will resolve the issue

Run the server on Minimum config before loading the server fully.

Re: DL380p G8 error System Power Fault Detected (XR: 24 00 MID: FF 0D FC 0F C0 FD FF 32 32 0C 0C 00

For battery tricks we already tried remove the battery and switch #6 to ON position- that makes factory default settings to BIOS. It does not help.

So probably the motherboard replacement needed. We don't have it at hends, so need to wait when it arrives from our supplier.  And VRM seems on DL380pG8 is a part of the motherboard ?

Please check this video.

May be its a clear point regarding VRM.

Oh my god this video about VRM is from DL380 G5 server ! And mine is 380p G8 - is about 10 years difference.

No VRM modules on G8, and if I remember correctly Gen6 and Gen7 also don't have it.

Hello,

Please follow the below recommendations to fix this issue.

1. Update the server with the latest bios and all firmware.

2. Replace the riser#1, if the issue doesn't resolve after bios & firmware updates.

Have few notes about recommendations 1 and 2.

1. Update the server with the latest bios and all firmware. - It is possible to update BIOS FW and iLO FW from iLO4 update option. But as the server doesn't start it is not possible to boot in to HP SPP or any OS to make update of "all firmware".

2. Replace the riser#1, if the issue doesn't resolve after bios & firmware updates. - We tried replace both risers or even start without risers. Doesn't help.

Probably the server requires motherboard replacement

Hello,

You can try to replace system board.

Or

I would suggest, you have to log a proper case with HPE, and share the appropriate logs for further analysis.

Re: DL380p G8 error System Power Fault Detected (XR: 24 00 MID: FF 0D FC 0F C0 FD FF 32 32 0C 0C 00

Yes, the system board replacement seems the solution that could help. And replacement board is still on the way....

I can't say that it is winning solution so far. As it was understood from the beginning "if nothing helps - the m/board should be changed" as it almost equals to replacement of the server.   So to replace the full server probably we don't need HPE community help

The other advice is "to log a proper case with HPE, and share the appropriate logs for further analysis." - there is no logs to see except the one I posted " System Power Fault Detected (XR: 24 00 MID: FF 0D FC 0F C0 FD FF 32 32 0C 0C 00......" The server can't generate more logs as it does not even start (power up).

All other tricks with battery, risers, reseating modules and cards, factory reset - doesn't help.
