DL380p Gen8 Hyper-V 2012 R2

Hi there,

I'm currently testing Hyper-V 2012 R2 on DL380p Gen8 server. I'm a newbie in this area. So, I just want to ask if there is anything I need to know in this setup from HP hardware and software standpoint? Do I need to install HP drivers and software? or is it better to stick to MS supplied? Do I need any changes to BIOS for better utliization of this scenario? Is anyone running one VM per physical disk? I know it's a risk but I will have another server in the same setup for failover purpose. Even MS recommends RAID 0. This is my server: http://www8.hp.com/emea_middle_east/en/products/proliant-servers/product-detail.html?oid=5195898 with 128GB RAM.  I will be using these for running multipe AD instances, File, SQL, Sharepoint and Exchange. I work load is very minimal across these applications; perhaps, except for the Exchange.

Any inputs will be valuable. No information is negligible :)

Thanking you in advance.

Hello,

Provide the server was updated with the last SPP. The vm may meet slowness issue but not the host.

Hello,

Is recommanded to build a RAID 5 with minimum 3 disk and store your vm. You provide tolerance and bandwith.
