DL385 G1 CPU Upgrades

Hi guys,

I recently bought a DL385 G1 with dual 2.0Ghz Opteron CPU's.

Is it possible to upgrade these to faster cpu just by simpling swapping the chip. Just they are quite cheap on ebay and I have seen some as fast as 3Ghz. Will they work with this server??

Hi,

Check the DL385 G1 quickspecs
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12162_na/12162_na.HTML

Under Processor Options, checkout the compatible processors.

You can upgrade to:
Dual-core AMD Opteron 285 2.6 GHz
Single-core AMD Opteron 254 2.8 GHz
