Re: DL385 G2 Diagnostic LED's
try the normal troubleshoting
-> try the server connect direct to a monitor
- Remove any attached device to the server (storage, ...)
-> after that reseating all the parts.
memories DIMMs, Processors, Power Supply, PPM (power processor modules), PCI riser cage
-> swap components - try different combinations in case you have more that 2 DIMMs or Processors.
- memories, Processors (PPM)
-> Try minimum configuration
-> just 2 DIMMs, 1 processor, no PCI cards, no data cables attached to HDDs.
-> clear NVRAM, using the System maintenance switch
let me know anyhitng about this

Re: DL385 G2 Diagnostic LED's
But I still would like to know the meaning of the LED's, may have saved a lot of parts swapping, which I do not like to do.

Re: DL385 G2 Diagnostic LED's
The DL385 G2 Maintenance and Service Guide is not very clear. The "Diagnostic LEDs" are iLO's diagnostic LEDs.
See page 182 of:
http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c03351063/c03351063.pdf
"After the boot process is complete, the HB LED [LED 8] flashes every second. LED 7 also flashes intermittently during normal operation", "The LED indicators (1 through 6) lightup after the system has booted to indicate a hardware failure. If a hardware failure is detected, reset iLO2".
