DL385 G2 Power Supplies

We are see a lot of DL385 G2 Power supply failures. Is anyone else having the same issue?

I dont think that this is a very common occurance as a small percentage of ProLiant 385 G2 series servers with Hot Plug Power Supply Part Number 379123-001 have failed on our site. The revised one that we use that seem to sort the issue is 379124-001.

Hey Jason...

It is very common to hear ppl that is having the same trouble.

The new G5's and also the new AMD versions use the same power supply as well (ML370 G5, DL380 G5, DL 385 G2). All of those has the exact same problem.

The reason of this is because that power supply has a totally different power management, and it is very tipically that we have to replace the PS for those servers very often

At this moment, there is nothing to do here, except keep calling 1-888-3600 opt 1 op 2 and bother the offsite engineers to replace them. haha

We also seeing an exceptional number of failures on DL385 G2 Power supplies. For the 60 servers, we have one fail about every other day.
