DL385 G2 memory compatible issue.
I have one DL385 G2 server with one CPU installed. However, We got the server just with 4GB installed which is 1GB x4. Today, We installed Vmesxi 3.5 on it. We want to consolidate our physical server as many as possible so we want to increase the memory capacity for DL385 G2. Because I just have one CPU for the DL385 G2, nothing can be done else finding 2GB x4. My question is that I have BL460c with 16GB installed, Are memory dimm on BL460c compatible with DL385 G2? Also I have one CPU taken from DL380 G4, I am not sure whether we can use it on DL385 G2 then we can add another 1GB x4 for the secondary CPU?
Any advices?

Re: DL385 G2 memory compatible issue.
Gryan-
You are asking two questions on your post:
1) Can you use memory from a BL460c in a DL385 G2? The DL385 G2 is AMD based and the BL460c is Intel based, and the memory dimms are different, so the BL460c RAM cannot be used in a DL355 G2.
2) Can you use a DL380 G4 CPU in the DL385 G2? The answer here is the same - the DL380 G4 is an Intel chip and the DL385 G2 is an AMD chip, and they cannot be interchanged.
I hope you find luck in getting the right solution to bolster your server for virtualization.
