DL385 G5 P400 SAS Controller

Can anyone tell me if the P400 SAS controller card with two channels splits with the 8 hard drive bays provided on the server? In other words, from the ACU software, does Port 2l control Bays 1-4 and Port 1l contol Bays 5-8?
I'd like to make mirrored arrays using Bays 1 and 5 for the System drive; Bays 2 and 6 for the Data; Bays 3 and 7 for Logging. Would this config work or does it matter for SAS?

yes you are right that the way the channels works

Channel A
1 - 4

Channel B
5 - 8
