The spec on the server clearly says all the USB ports are USB 2.0...
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12477_na/12477_na.html
I've just plugged my external USB drive in to it and it say it would perform better if I plug it in to a USB 2.0 port???...
Is there something I'm missing here...?, all the drivers are installed okay from Smartstart, and everything seems to be working fine..., it's Win2003 also...
Need some help here...

Solutioncolin ,
check bios setting they are set to USB 1 by default..
if issue persists
look en dev manager under usb it should say USB enhanced controller if driver is correct
are all ports showing the same issue ?
if so use firmware cd 8.6 boot from it upgrade all firmware
then use software psp cd in windows
installall drivers and utils,,from this
remove cd reboot is all okay now
if not reboot on psp software cd and select option maintaon server and run full diagnostics will report all hw errors if any ..
try that usb stick in another serve if possible to0
enjoy and goodluck let us know if issue persists

Re: DL385 G5..., USB 2.0?
Why on earth would you ever want USB 1 enabled as default..?
I guess it goes with some of the other stuff HP do such as making the USB the default boot device on a server.., why would you want to do that..? :-(
