DL385 G6 BIOS setting for HYPER-V Role??

I've enabled two settings in the BIOS for virtualization: "No-execute page protection" and "AMD-Virtualization:. However, when i try to enable HYPER-V role in 2008R2, it was telling me "The processor on this computer is not compatible with Hyper-v. To install this role, the processor must have a supported version of hardware-assisted virtualization and that feature must be turned on on the bios".


What else might be missing? i can't find anything missing, and plan to reinstall the whole thing.

Are you using a 64-bit version of Windows 2008?

For Virtualization to work with HP proliant servers, we need to enable the option in BIOS (RBSU). There is an option in RBSU to Enable/Disable the Intel VT.

Follow the steps to make the changes in RBSU :

1. To run RBSU and modify configuration settings, press the F9 key when prompted during the startup sequence.
2. Choose "System Option" >> Processor Option.
It gives the following options.


â ¢ No-Execute Memory Protection (G6 servers)
⠢ Intel® Virtualization Technology (G6 servers)
⠢ Intel® Hyperthreading® Options (G6 servers)
â ¢ Core Disabling Options (G6 servers)
â ¢ Turbo Mode (G6 Servers)
⠢ Intel® VT-d2 (G6 servers)

We need to Enable Intel® Virtualization Technology and Intel® VT-d2.

DL385 G6 uses AMD processors, not Intel...

I finally ended up reinstalling the windows, and when i check that hyper v box, it didn't complain anymore after reinstalling. i don't know what happen. the 2 bios setting was previously enabled. amd virtualization and no execute page protection.

i don't know what's up with that, but it's working now.
