DL385 Ghost Hanging on Mouse Activity

I have 4 new DL385's that are all experiencing this problem.

I am using the Universal Network Boot Disk to boot DOS and start a network connection using DHCP or a static ip address.

Once the network is running, I map a network drive to a share on a Windows 2003 server where I have stored the Ghost DOS executables for versions 7.0, 8.0 and 2003.

I can run any of these versions to save an image but once the image save has started, if the mouse is moved at all, the imaging operation stops and the DL385 hangs.

I've researched this on the web, in newsgroups, in these HP forums and in the HP knowledgebase and tried various recommendations I found for issues that appeared possibly related. Nothing worked.

I've tried using the integrated nics and some Intel Pro/100 nics with no effect on the problem.

I've used this process on many other types of servers without running into this. The problem seems to be specific to these 385's.

Has anyone else run into this problem or something similar? If so, any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks.

I don't know about your boot disk and drivers, but I would suggest: don't touch the mouse.

You can control the application with the keyboard.

;-)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for taking the time to respond Torsten, but we've already tried that.

I submitted this in hope of determining the cause of the problem and learning how to fix it.

Yes I know.

I'm sure the reason is your " Universal Network Boot Disk ".
But I don't know your disk and the used drivers, sorry.

Hope this helps!
