DL385 - PCI Bus reports Code 12 - Win2k3 Server
Hi all,
I have a new DL385 with a fresh install of Windows 2003 Enterprise (32bit), and in the hardware list, a 'PCI bus' has the yellow exclamation mark and reports the following:
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)"
I have installed the latest bios and ProLiant Support Pack which didn't help.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers,
Leon.

Re: DL385 - PCI Bus reports Code 12 - Win2k3 Server
Hello Leon,
Code 12--This error occurs because the hardware conflicts with another device. From the device Properties dialog box, select the Resources tab to view the conflicting device in the "Conflicting device list" at the bottom of the screen. Remove the conflicting device, then re-add the device to see whether that device requests a different, nonconflicting resource. If these steps don't resolve the error, you'll need to manually assign resources for the two conflicting devices.

You can also try to:
- Turn off the server, remove the PCI card that is having conflicts, turn the server on.
- Turn the server off again and re-install the PCI card, turn on and Windows will assign a different IRQ to that PCI card

Thanks guys for your replies. It is a strange one for in the resources tab it states that there is 'No Conflicts'
Very weird. I will keep investigating.
Cheers.
