DL560 G1 - NC7781 determine firmware version
I have a DL560 G1 with NC7781 NICS in it. I am trying to find out what version of firmware has been applied to the NIC. Is there any way to find this out? I have the 8.0 firmware CD, but I need to determine how out of date the current firmware is for managment purposes. Until then, I can't use the 8.0 firmware CD. Thank you!

Re: DL560 G1 - NC7781 determine firmware version
hi
you can that using HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows 2000/Windows Server 2003 -> survey section - so you select from the menu advance and the section where NIC card can be find, that will show you all information related with NIC cards

Re: DL560 G1 - NC7781 determine firmware version
I went to Insight Diagnostics and chose the Current Config / Advanced / Communications section. I see the NC7781 NIC listed, but here are the items under it. None of them sound like the firmware version. Am I in the right area?
Link Status
MAC Address
IP Address
Adapter Type
Interface
Bus
Device
Function
Vendor ID
Device ID
Sub Vendor ID
Sub Device ID
Slot
Manufacturer
Windows Device ID
Slot Number
Class Code
Sub-Class Code
Revision ID - set to 02h
The available firmware on the download section is 1.2(A). The Revision ID is the only thing that seems close. Any suggestions?
