Re: DL580 G1 (compaq) bios setup RBSU

Try F10 instead.
From the document at this link:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00191707/c00191707.pdf

It says:
HP ProLiant Generation 2 and later servers have a configuration utility embedded in the system ROM. The configuration utility, RBSU, starts when you press the F9 key ... pressing the F10 key for previous ProLiant servers.

Re: DL580 G1 (compaq) bios setup RBSU

I seem to remember that the G1s had a system partition instead of a Rom setup utility. I'll have to double check that though.

Re: DL580 G1 (compaq) bios setup RBSU

I found an answer here:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/15ad-0701a-wwen.html

If you look at Table one and the column ROM Based setup utility, you'll notice
that the DL580 has a "No". What it uses is the old The Compaq System Partition.
So your hard drive must be partitioned using an operating system and either
the system partition was never created using smart start or it was erased at some point.
