DL580 G2 ATI Video Driver Problems
After installing this server with NT4 SP6, we are unable to correctly install the video driver for the ATI Fury XL.
Even though the driver appears to be installed correctly and up to date, every time we reboot the server, it defaults to 16colours and reports that the graphics card needs to be re-set up.
Is this a known problem, or something to do with Integrated Lights Out ?
We have used both the drviers on the supplied Smartstart CD, and the latest SSD from Compaq website.
All give the same problem.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Kindest Regards, Geraint.

Re: DL580 G2 ATI Video Driver Problems
if pc anywhere is installed on the system, it needs to be uninstalled, then reapply the driver. You can then reinstall pc anywhere. This may also be true for other remote applications.

Re: DL580 G2 ATI Video Driver Problems
did you install the cp002405.exe # Compaq ATI RAGE XL Video Controller Driver for Windows NT 4.0?
If you don't reboot after installation, could you change the display, and choose ATI.

Re: DL580 G2 ATI Video Driver Problems
This is because the DL580G2 has an ATI XL PCI video card. HP only seem to provide drivers for the ATI RAGE IIC which is used in older servers.
We have complained to HP about this oversight, back in November 2002, and still we wait for the correct drivers to be packaged in the support paq.
